(90,785 posts)I made a wind tunnel (of sorts) with an opening for my camera. I then placed various small items inside, turned on the wind source and snapped away.

(14,040 posts)This was taken last year in Baltimore at the annual "Honfest" and sadly, Hon was a random passerby that was wonderful enough to let me capture her presence on camera so I've no means of letting her know how popular she is.
A little about the Honfest:
Hon, short for Honey, is a classic Bawlmer term of endearment. For generations, it has expressed the warmth and affection bestowed upon neighbors and visitors alike by our mothers and grandmothers.
Since 1994, HonFest has grown from a tiny Baltimore's Best Hon pageant behind Café Hon, to a nationally recognized festival that covers four city blocks on Hampden's very own 36th Street. In recent years, the festival has been acknowledged by The New York Times, Rachel Ray's Tasty Travels, Nightly News with Brian Williams, The New York Post, Southern Living, The LA Times, HGTV, CNN, and The New Yorker.
Each year, revelers from every corner of our city, region, and nation--not to mention from overseashave come to Hampden to celebrate Baltimore heritage and experience what makes the town like no other.

Let me just say that Honfest is a hoot!
Thanks for voting for the portrait of this wonderful character.
For anyone in the area, this years Honfest takes place on (I'm not affiliated with the Honfest in any shape or form):
June 13: 11am to 10pm
June 14: Noon to 6pm
On edit:
I'm not used to winning anything, so my manners briefly escaped me. Congrats to all the participants, your photos were wonderful.

(31,402 posts)I'll bet Hon would love to know that a shot of her won a photography contest!
From those colors, I would have thought the shot had something to do with Mardi Gras.

And, a special thank you to Mira for helping me out in getting all the polls and winners posted as I couldn't do that part of the contest as I have no member Star privileges, and for all the support in getting the April contest off the ground.
Mira!
And, a big thank you to Mz Pip, too, for the total support and help in collecting the photos for the contest; She made it an easy process for this first-timer.
Mz Pip!
