(40,416 posts)One of the best political history books I've ever read was David Oshinsky's A Conspiracy So Immense, a biography of "Tail Gunner" Joe McCarthy. Of course, McCarthy was never a tail gunner, but you wouldn't know that if you just listened to him. The book is a very good read.
