For Carli and Lili, two tigers rescued from a dirty, run-down private enclosure outside Buffalo, New York, last year, swimming was a foreign concept.

For most liquid-averse cats, that’s not a problem, but tigers aren’t like most cats—they love to play, swim, and bathe in water.

Now, thanks to grants from the International Fund for Animal Welfare, the feline sisters have a new home and a new watering hole to enjoy.

“For the very first time, they’ll be able to feel what it’s like to swim,” IFAW wildlife rescue operator Kelly Donithan says in the video posted on Thursday.
