One of the great TV series of my lifetime was The Wire.

The show was a perfect blend of inner city issues, the Police, and the Politics that all played out in Baltimore.

I actually think it's the greatest television show ever made.

It laid completely bare almost EVERYTHING that is wrong with this country today and showed how it is all interconnected, while remaining thoroughly fascinating in the process. It succeeds on almost every conceivable level--acting, writing, editing, visuals. There's a good reason why universities include this show in their sociology and political science programs.
