(18,115 posts)I'm tired of this shit.
If you commit a crime, you get arrested, not executed. I don't care how black you are or how pissed off the cops are.
You're welcome.

(2,841 posts)where one of the biggest race riots happened back in the 60s, our city still suffers from economic turmoil, crime, white flight, andlack of opportunities for lower-income POC and the elderly that live there. Riots never end well and only fuel racism and distrust between authority and the public.

Please tell us what's going on when you can.

(11,833 posts)They're covering all the press conferences, interviewing community leaders, people on the streets. If anyone has any other live feeds please post them here in this thread.
Many of us watch online and appreciate the news through a local feed more than the national coverage.

(41,831 posts)Unfortunately, I got one message from a DUer that we should not watch this because by doing so, we are encouraging others to destroy and loot. WTF? Hello..this is important, and I won't stick my head in the sand..if you do that, you may as well ignore the rest of the news on Du, as well.
Yes, lets stick our heads in the sand, and ignore whats going on this country!
Just stupid... If you don't want to watch this, than don't. Don't complain to me about posting a link to it.

(11,833 posts)I always prefer that over the national coverage, which tends to be more histrionic and less reliable. If I want to find out what my friend is doing, I ask my friend. I don't ask everyone else other than my friend.

(41,831 posts)Should people in other states, be told to ignore this, and go on with their lives, like its non of their business. This kind of thing involves the entire Nation, even President Obama called the Mayor of Baltimore! This is a national tragedy, and maybe people in other states wants to help. Why should the rest of us stick our heads in the sand and say, well..that's their problem.. LOOK AWAY! That's such a messed up attitude to have. There is a reason there are news stations, both local and national, its to keep the rest of us informed on the issues...and hey, this could happen in any other city in the United States tomorrow.

(11,833 posts)Maybe fear of property or personal damage? Fear of unrest? As you say, it's important news. These are our brothers and sisters in Baltimore. The whole world is watching. Ignoring it doesn't make the issues of both justice and peace go away.

The local CBS affiliate is still doing pretty good reporting but they've gone off the air for the evening.
