PHILIPPI, W.Va. Think youve seen the worst of awful school lunches? Think again.
Several students and parents shared photos of their recent disgusting cafeteria lunch at West Virginias Philippi Middle School.
They featured a severely burned burritos covered in melted plastic.
They were eating plastic and the chemicals that melted with the plastic, thats not good, says Sherie Bolton, a grandparent of a Philippi student.
I think this was something they werent used to making so they just burned them and rather then choosing to throw them away and remaking something else, because of what was on the menu that day, they served them.
The whole thing has administrators apologizing and saying cafeteria employees will receive training.

(14,134 posts)You would have to pay people to do that. All they do is open boxes, heat it up, serve. Or in this case, burn.

Nutritionally speaking, much less so.

(20,277 posts)without burning it maybe you shouldn't be working in the cafeteria.

(9,154 posts)There are no room-identifying marks from which to determine whether the photo was taken where it is alleged to have been taken.
Further, the article says "cafeteria employee", but doesn't mention if this is a school-district position, or a sub-contracted position, as has been reported to occur in public schools all over the country. Missing information.
Am I saying the site is lying? Unknown, but the association to Fox News and all the RW sites certainly suggest that there is something misleading in the story.
Another missing bit of information, is the pay scale offered to the employees in question. Are they minimum wage employees?
This is a fantastic story, with too much missing information to be believable.
