14. Interestingly enough, if you have both a Canadian and a US passport, you still cannot go

from the US straight to Cuba using your Canadian passport. Know why? It's against the law to use a foreign passport to enter or leave the US if you also have a US passport. Just found that out for myself. Cray-cray. This country is cray-cray.

From there many flights to Havana. Cubans don't punch your passport. No one cares.

it was all bullshit but that was the guise and it worked I guess. I had already been to Cuba back in the day as a kid. I'd like to go again but not really worked up about it. Road Scholar, a great travel site, has some trips: http://www.roadscholar.org/programs/search_res.asp?keyword=cuba

Lots of trips there just with Road Scholar.

You can sign up for one of those people-to-people gigs and jump on the charter plane. Or, you can fly to Canada or Mexico and go from there (slightly less legal, but if you drive/go by bus back and forth across the northern or southern border, you can use a passport CARD and never have to show your visa stamp to the authorities).

do not stamp your passport if you hold a US passport!

My daughter and son-in-law just came back from Cuba and they say that Havana is wonderful. The hotels are not that great in terms of cleanliness but they had a great time and would go back.
