Yes, indeed. Unfortunately you got more nasty weather than we did up here in the Gulf.

I think the order is
"invest"
"tropical depression"
"tropical storm"
then when a tropical storm reaches 72 mph it becomes a Category 1 hurricane.
It has been about 10 years since we have seen any significant storms in the Gulf.

which formed below Jamaica.
This time of year the real water comes up through Central America - we've had many serious floods in the Northern Caribbean at this time of year.

And a few tropical storms have moved across Fla.
It has been a long time since we had a serious storm, and in the past folks have tended to become complacent about hurricane readiness.
