(13,184 posts)The OP is an effort to drive a wedge between Bernie and progressives who loathe our one-sided Israel policy. Not an anti-semitic attack on Bernie.
If I were in one of those town halls and the topic was Israel, he'd probably be telling me to shut up, too.
But I still prefer him, despite his bad position on Israel policy.

An older woman from New York, supporter of Senator Clinton's campaign, who appears to have been removed from the Committee and Rules Meeting at the Democratic Delegate Conference in Washington D.C. shouts that McCain will win the White House, God Damn Democratic Party and that Barack Obama was in Inadequate Black Male and the only reason he was in the race was because a white female was running.
Old politics vs. new politics are quite obvious in this clip.

Kalidurga
(14,177 posts)I don't care what most people's opinion of the I/P matter is, most people don't know jack about it including me. Yet, everyone has an opinion. My uninformed opinion is that there should be a two state solution and that the new Palestinian State should get the bulk of the foreign aid that Israel currently gets. And their should be some insurances in place against discrimination. There is way to much slave labor going on their via Palestinians working for practically nothing and way too much going on with travel restrictions. I don't think the two state solution would be enough to address those issues.

(59,504 posts)I've lived in VT less than three years and have gone to at least three of them. In all, he took questions from anyone and everyone. No one was shy about asking anything and he answered all of the politely. There was one, when after I think the third question on the F35 , he said that he had answered everything he had to say on that and pointed out that he had the ambassador of (I think Denmark) there and the topic of both his talk and the ambassador's was healthcare and he thought it would be better to take advantage of the ambassador to learn more about how it works there.
This is a level of questioning that I doubt HRC has had since Arkansas days! After all, she erupted with anger in the far more formal SFRC hearing room. I know many here liked the show of anger but, I would but her angry "What difference does it make" up against this to any neutral listener.
To me as a newbie to Vermont - (or at least Burlington which some Vermonters have commented "isn't that near Vermont?" , one huge difference is how personal connections are to politicians. Both Senators are accessible and so is our mayor. In comparison, though active in my county's Democratic party, I never met Menendez. I met Lautenberg twice and was incredibly impressed.
A politician especially should know this. Not Presidential material.

Beyond that, time to call bullshit on how YOU frame this video. You claim that his response is to questions. Disgusting and, er, inaccurate to be charitable to you. it's in response to being threatened and screamed at. duh. and you damn well know this. But you while mendaciously claiming that this is for informational purposes only, (yeah, sure, bean) characterize it in a way that is far from the truth.

(2,792 posts)Everyone who has done public speaking, whether in the classroom or the auditorium, feels like saying "shut up" from time to time; but, in my view, it is not the right way to handle things. Obama is much classier in the way he handles such things. Perhaps he is better trained at public speaking.
I admit that it is better than dragging out hecklers or shooting them, but I still believe it is inappropriate. It has a negative rhetorical impact and sours the mood of the audience and makes them lose concentration for a moment.
I was very disappointed that he did that. Then again, we are all human and have our bad days, especially when we are tired and irritating persons are more able to get a rise out of us.
There are many useful techniques for handling loud-mouthed disrupters, and I am sure that in the future Bernie's campaign managers will help him in this regard.

(9,748 posts)They've been saying that about us for years. And we've spent years thinking, "surely you don't believe that shit."
The last week has made it abundantly clear that, yes, they really have believed we oppose pragmatic solutions.
Well, no, we never opposed pragmatism in figuring out solutions. We just opposed their so-called "pragmatic" solutions. Because their pragmatic solutions are inevitably those opposed by the vast majority of Americans. That is the exact opposite of the word pragmatic and resulted in ending 60 years of House control for the Democrats and 60 years of Democratic majorities in state governments.
But, hey, it's only been 20 years since the Third Way takeover. Any moment now the pro-corporate agenda is going to pay off for us.
