You can see little spots of pink in the top photo on the sides of the Orioles.
I had mentioned a few months before that I missed the Bleeding Hearts from my childhood. Mom loved them. She had a row of them right up until she died. She had the same address and phone for 60 years. She was mad when her bank was bought and changed her account #.
Madison went back to school today.

Grapes for the Robins (Aldi's 2# 1.99)
Grape jelly for the orioles (Aldi's 1.79)
Peanuts in the shell for the Blue Jays (Sams Club 5.50 for 5# - 3 bags)
Mixed bird seed for the unparticular - GillRoys 30# for 21.95 NO MILO)
SUET:
3 cans Lard from Shop & Save (5.50 for a 4# a container
Melt, add 2 5# bags of flour
Package of cookies
Leftoever rice in the refrig, make oatmeal with water & add,
Bird Seed & any other good stuff
Mix like crazy and pour (or push) into large plastic containers, freeze in the grocery bags you get in the produce section. Take out a bag and break it with a hammer on your garage floor, and put large pieces into metal suet cages sold in stores. This goes over big with woodpeckers, robins, grackles, redwings, and it's taking me broke.
Most of the birds were born here and their moms fed them this stuff last years..

(99,737 posts)14. We are going through a jar of grape jelly a day
We have five feeders just for grape jelly. We get the Welchs natural because we doesn't have any CFS.
The night feeders get a jar of cranberry relish on the ground level every night. After Christmas we buy up all we can get on clearance all over town. It is for the possums, raccoons, groundhogs, etc.
