First of all, Jeb Bush said that Dubya would be one of his primary foreign policy advisers. Then he said, with 20/20 hindsight, he would still have invaded Iraq. What!!
Even Republican jaws dropped. After all we know about the biggest foreign policy blunder in our lifetimes, Jeb was still clinging to the disastrous policies of his discredited brother.
But now, after all the criticism, Jeb has backtracked and said he misinterpreted the question. "Mistakes were made", he said.
And yesterday, a young lady informed the possible presidential candidate that it was his brother that created ISIS. This is not the type of news Republicans want to hear.
They prefer to blame Barack Obama for all the foreign policy disasters we have experienced over the last several years. They had the Iraq War won and Obama gave it back to the terrorists, they argued. The country needs the expertise of Republicans to win wars and regain the respect from the world, they say.
But, Jeb has demolished all those arguments and has forced the Republican Party to finally come to grips with the reality of their military blunders. Republican leaders wanted very badly to use Republican expertise in foreign affairs in the next campaign. That is not going to happen now. This has been a disastrous week for Republican plans.

(81,466 posts)jeb bush has paul wolfowitz in his foreign policy advisor team. This early in the game. That bastard is already installed and all dressed up and ready to steamroll back into the White House to finish what he started and prove himself vindicated about Iraq. Probably already has business cards printed up.
And that's all you need to know about what to expect from a (GOD FORBID!!!!) jeb bush presidency.

Can you believe folks like Wolfowitz, Cheney and Judith Miller have *any* quarter in decision making? Gah! How can your reputation be in tatters, yet, the media still treat and "very serious people". Grrrr.

Most of the GOP frontrunners have flip flopped on W and Iraq already. It won't matter to their base.
