Wizard of Id and B.C. have always been two of my favorite strips. Hart was a committed Christian, but never heavy-handed with it (well, at least not in earlier strips). He was great at breaking the fourth wall.

(17,216 posts)5. One of my B.C. collections discusses Hart's minimalist style.
He got a little more elaborate after time, but in his early work, the bare-bones art is brilliant. Kind of like Doonesbury in that. Once Trudeau got someone else to handle the art, the strip art became more rivet-counting. Not bad, mind you, but not the same.
