Senator Feinstein Says TPP Is Not For Corporate America

And this is the reason why I despise corporate dems- they're liars and they'll stab you in the back every time, and yeah, the whiff of corruption is strong with Feinstein. Next up, I'll bet is Nancy Pelosi.

The rhetoric for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) is hitting new levels of absurdity. Though all available evidence – including leaked portions – shows the TPP is a massive give away to corporate interests, the agreement is being framed by Democratic advocates as some sort of bizarre achievement for working people.

First the White House called the TPP the “most progressive trade agreement in history” and now Senator Dianne Feinstein has claimed that TPP is not for Corporate America.

Instead, Feinstein offered that small businesses will be the real beneficiaries and that critics of the measure should more closely examine the proposed agreement.

“I want to straighten one thing out, and that is that most people think this is a bill for corporate america,” Sen. Dianne Feinstein said on ABC’s “This Week.” “In California, 95 percent of the trade is carried out by companies and business of less than 500 people.”…

how much they get taxed. If tax rates are high enough, those SOBs can make twice as much, as long as the vast majority of us are doing OK. Those who aren't OK - and aren't just griping because someone makes 700 times what they do - should get help from the extra taxes we collect.

She's married to a long-time One Percenter (Richard Blum).
His latest contribution to America: As a majority shareholder in the commercial real estate firm CBRE, that company
is trying to shut down post offices all over the country, as part of an endgame to dismantle the USPS (first Postmaster: Benjamin Franklin) and hand over the business to FedEx, UPS and similar distinguished employers.

... where it had majority support but got filibustered and defeated by the Republicans?

http://www.sfgate.com/politics/article/Feinstein-assault-weapons-ban-defeated-4443319.php

Was she legitimately trying to get that bill to pass? Or just putting on a show then for us to make it sound like she cared about this issue, especially in light of her personal experience with the announcing the news of the murder of Harvey Milk and mayor George Moscone in City Hall then, you'd think she would really have wanted that bill to pass!

But then check what happened about the same time when Democrats voted down Jeff Merkley's filibuster reform rules at the same time, and look who on the Democratic side stood in the way of fixing the filibuster rules so that a bill like this could have passed!

Yuck.

And all the TPP apologists say, "Oh, take a look at the draft!" Right. Ummm... How? NOBODY'S ALLOWED TO READ THE GODDAMNED THING! Or make copies, or take notes.

The Nazis originated "The Big Lie," the Republicans perfected it and polished it to a blinding sheen, and now the Democraps are saying, "Ooooo! SHINY! I WANT me one a them!"

Words cannot express how disgusted and ashamed I am of Obama for supporting this bag of buzzard barf. Some "legacy," Barry.

Did I miss something? Is the TPP available for everyone to see now? No more going into a secure room, no camera, no phone, no taking notes, reading it while a guard watches?

One of the main problems with the damned thing is that nobody has been allowed to know what's in it! If we can all examine it closely, can anyone supply the link? Thanks.

Mon May 18, 2015, 06:46 PM
May 2015

I'm sure some high percentage of Americans have an income, but the bulk of the income is going to the 1%.

Whenever a politician says something benefits "small business" you can bet your last dollar that the bulk of the benefits will go to large corporations.

If you want us to believe that the TPP isn't for Corporations, insert language that phases out all benefits derived from the TPP for companies, foreign and domestic, by the time the companies reach 1000 employees. And that includes all companies held under a corporate umbrella - no splitting into divisions of 999 employees.

Here is how he is enriching himself off of undermining the postal system:
http://www.eastbayexpress.com/oakland/inspector-general-goes-postal/Content?oid=4269263

A couple of years ago I read something similar about what he was doing as a regent of the University of California. (He was in charge of finances, but at the same time he was massively invested in "for profit" college schemes and I'm sure he wanted to give them some cred by integrating them into the UC system).

I can't remember where I read this, but hasn't there been recent questions about Feinstein's own direct investments and her influence on the committees she's on?

And she's such a hypocrite on privacy and whistleblowing she makes me sick. She's an over-privileged stooge of the 1%, a fake Democrat, and she can't be voted out of office fast enough for me.

which was pointed out to Peter's staff yesterday during the sit in.

The House’s top Democrat said Wednesday she is opposed to trade promotion authority (TPA) legislation introduced last month by a trio of lawmakers.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) said Wednesday that she doesn’t support a measure authored by two Republicans and former Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus that would provide President Obama with ramped up powers to help smooth the passage of trade deals.

Pelosi made clear on Wednesday night that she isn’t opposed to the concept of TPA, also known as fast-track authority, but she can’t support a bill introduced by Baucus, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-Mich.) and Senate Finance Committee ranking member Orrin Hatch (R-Utah).
