...as seen on Broadway in Tucson, painted on someone's backyard wall. It's at Bryant St, about 4200 E Broadway.
BTW, those mountains in the background (the Catalinas) are where DemoTex is spending his summer. (The fire lookout station on Mt Lemmon.)
More info on Gov. Ducey:
Gov. DB is doing his masters' bidding
The Governor is out to destroy this state.
He's even worse than I expected, and this is just the start of his term...
I took the photos yesterday... wanted to get them up before I headed to bed.
Y'all have a nice day!

(6,409 posts)When the TV preachers command me to get down on my knees and be thankful for my blessings, I think of wonderful people like these home owners. We are truly blessed to have such citizens among us.

(40,416 posts)They are clearly the same pic, except the background trees are different palms in one. As are the mountains, missing in yours. Then there's the words on the banner.
But other elements, the buildings behind show both to be derivative of the same pic.
So, somebody is trying to pull something off.
Not saying I disagree, but photoshopped pics are always suspect, and clearly one of these is just that.
My best to you.

Go to Goggle Maps
https://www.google.com/maps/preview
Plug in this address:
4200 E Broadway, Tucson Az
Once the map comes up grab the little guy in the lower right hand corner and drop him on the map pointer. You may have to navigate a bit to see the wall. According to Goggle Maps this is how the fence looked in March 2015. It's very possible the home owner updated the message since then. As far as the scenery being different,i.e.; the mountains, it just may be the perspective/angle.
Thanks for the response.

(32,077 posts)Their roofs are oriented differently. One or more of the photos are photoshopped.

(5,024 posts)Google street view shows the text but not the July 2013. It is possible that between March and May the homeowner changed the sign again.
The two photos are taken from different locations

(9,260 posts)For more info, see my post #25 below. And, the 2 photos in my OP are taken from different spots - maybe 15 ft apart. I cropped one to show just "MY GOVERNOR IS A LUNATIC", which was what caught my eye and the title of the thread.
Hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend!

(40,416 posts)Ones brain twists things up a bit sometime.
I retract the photoshop post. But I will not self delete it, because it is a lesson for me of how ones brain goes wrong occasionally.

(3,820 posts)Check where the word "My" (as in My gov is a lunitic} lines up with the smaller words above it in the first pic. It's directly under "lic" (as in public education}. It lines up exactly with the wider shot below, which shows the entire sign. That's my thinking anyway.

(40,416 posts)So yup. It is all perspective. Ones brain is always fooling us. Unless one turns a skeptical eye at it. Then one can know what's what.
Thankfully one has folks here who point the way.
I agree. There is no photoshop here.

(1,432 posts)Notice how the N of Not is on the wall brace and doesn't look like it sits naturally with the contour of the wall and brace? Also Public Education is blurred out. That could be just a glitch with google, but I find it strange that only those 2 words would be blurred.

(3,626 posts)and this could easily be my state (Florida) but it would be painted out within minutes! I mean, our government employees would be fired for uttering 'climate change', 'global warming', or 'sustainability'. I think they might be able to use the N word though.

(2,586 posts)In the less privellaged areas this could be there for months! In higher scale neighborhoods they would have caught the person who made that and added an attempted murder charge as well.

(1,787 posts)I lived in Tucson way back in 1973. I will be going there this September for a brief High School ReUnion.
My plan is to Amtrak it in and then rent a car and check it out around there.

(9,260 posts)Ok, after getting up this afternoon and reading posts suggesting it was photo-shopped, and that the buildings, roofs, etc. aren't the same, I decided to go back over there and take more pics from more angles (hoping to clarify/settle the questions.)
What a nice couple I met when I asked if I could park in front of their home (the gravel area is on their property) and the street is narrow and winding which doesn't allow parking except for driveways, and private parking on personal property. The "Mrs." said yes. I told her what I was doing and that I loved the sign, and she was in agreement. I said it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes to walk the couple of blocks and come back.
After returning, I went to thank them again and say I was leaving, when she remembers a column in our local paper, on this very sign just a few days earlier! What a coincidence! I hadn't read the paper, and didn't know about it. It was published May 19th. Link is here:
Steller: Broadway wall sends political message, welcome or not
"When your back wall faces a busy urban thoroughfare, what do you do with it?
Most people do nothing. They leave bare block.
But one couple who owns property along East Broadway views their back wall as a canvas for political messages.

My child is an honor student. My governor is a lunatic, is whats painted on the wall now, below smaller lettering that says, Support public education. Many people wrongly assume that Betts Putnam-Hidalgo is the owner, because the wall sported a campaign message for her when she ran for TUSD school board last year.
Putnam-Hidalgo does paint the wall sometimes this current message is her handiwork but it isnt her wall. When I arrived on their street, which parallels Broadway, Monday evening to identify the owners, I was surprised to realize when they drove up that I knew them already.
Joy Soler and Paul Gattone, well-known Tucson leftists who also own Revolutionary Grounds coffee house on North Fourth Avenue, own the house and the notorious wall. A couple of times, police or other officials have stopped to talk to them about it.
Paul Gattone, an attorney says, "Its our wall, and its protected speech.
__________________________________________________________
It's an interesting article that goes through the various messages that have been painted and then changed to something else. The "My child is an honor student, my governor is not" was inspired by a slogan used against Scott Walker.
The writer, Tim Steller, interviewed some neighbors, heard different opinions and gave me some things to think about. It was a pretty good column, and I really thank the "Mrs." for remembering it and sharing it with me. What great timing that was.
Now I have to upload my photos and see which ones I want to add, although maybe it's not needed now, with this column verifying everything... I'll have a look and see.

It's so weird, because I was just looking at their website a few weeks ago, looking for a place to go on 4th Ave, with a friend who doesn't drink. Knowing this about the owners really make me want to go now, with or without my friend.
They offer space to host book clubs, group meetings and community activities. Sounds cool. If we were ever going to have a Tucson meetup, this may be a good spot.

(88 posts)I've been marooned here for several years. My homeowners association won't even let me paint my front door without their permission. To paraphrase that woman who ran for vice president, along with another lunatic, "I can see those mountains from my house.' About the only real thing for me in Tucson.
