I haven't heard anything about it, and if anything, if a republican president had done some of the things Obama has, they would be calling him the 2nd Amendment's staunchest defender. I mean, saying he doesn't have a problem with people carrying guns outside his political rallies as long as they're following state and local ordinances? Dubya couldn't handle letting people who disagreed with him within a 6 block radius.

The reason is that these rifles can accomodate a 30 round clip and are easily convertable to fully automatic. They are allowing about 85,000 of the M1 Garand, but those weapons only hold 8 rounds and are not full auto capable.

And Sen. Paul is more than willing to exploit that gullibility.
