Carson wins early GOP straw poll

For whatever the fuck this is worth.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson won the presidential straw poll at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in Oklahoma City on Saturday, beating out Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

Carson won 25.4 percent of the vote, while Walker took 20.5 percent and Cruz received 16.4 percent.

Other GOP presidential hopefuls and potential candidates finished far behind the top trio. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie finished a distant fourth with 5.3 percent of the vote, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry took 5 percent, and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush won 4.9 percent.

Winning the straw poll could provide a boost to Carson’s long-shot candidacy.

Not gonna happen.

The guy is apparently a brilliant surgeon but not so good on common sense.

I usually warn people away from the comments on a story, but the ones at the MSN story are great.

I read them and my head is still spinning. Lots of RW claptrap and some "liberals" who were embarrassing too. Ugh.

I stopped paying attention to the state GOP until that bagger got in charge of elections.

I talked to some people who had a schedule meet with Inslee and said they need to watch out for her. Sure enough, she tried to get us into that GOP data base to purge voters in 2012.

I bet she'll try again. The big increase of megachurch voters are making things too close to call now and doing their Nordquist 'starve the beast' act like they did in 2014.

Got a letter from the DNC asking to list priorities for 2016. Said POTUS is first, strengthening state parties is next and went down from there. We ha got to reverse this here.

My area has run some great young candidates but they are not funded well enough. And the GOP has the religious advantage 24/7/365 which costs them nothing.
