MZ is reporting that cable channel TLC has officially yanked 19 Kids and Counting off the air.
According the TMZs sources, the ultimate fate of the show is not known, but in the wake of fallout from revelations about Josh Duggars past molestation of underage girls, the network had no other choice.
In addition, a representative for General Mills told TMZ that they had blacklisted the show and removed it from their companys advertising schedule.

They will have to figure out another way to exploit their kids for money.

(16,846 posts)People were buying used cars from that asshole. Even before I knew about his past, I would never have bought a used car from him. I've driven used cars my whole life, and I'm careful about where I get them. Some salesmen down here bring up their 'faith' when they're talking to you, and those are the last ones that I would buy anything from.

(13,877 posts)they were the legally responsible parties for all of their children. They failed all of them, while parading them around and making money off of them and "blanket training" them (a horror) ...makes the Gosselins look like a picnic...and continue to while Josh takes all the heat.
He had no sane adult to talk to or model his behavior. He was as trapped as the rest of them. He had no chance. Your parents teach you what is right and wrong and They Knew...if he had hid it, but he didn't. They knew and they covered it up which endangered their daughters continually until the statue of limitations had run out. That was not his decision it was theirs.
He had no contact with normal people. He did not go to school. I'm sorry, but he's as much a victim as the girls. No, not the same way and there is a difference, but he had no other role model and the guilt ate him up anyway. I'd bet money that Jim Bob has a history, as well. He did not grow up on television, so we'll never know. But, the apple does not fall far from the tree.

(13,877 posts)direct victims, still bear the guilt...sometimes even more because they cannot stop it, thinking of the 12 year old girl who was probably having periods, so she was safe. And the other boys and girls knew and could do nothing...because the first born son is the "chosen prince". What a mess.
I'll even give Michelle a bit of a break because her only role was to idolize her husband and stay barefoot and pregnant..her entire marriage. So what could she do? It all comes down to their own religious insanity...it all lays at the feet of Jim Bob Duggar. He's the Patriarch...the god of the family...the one who should be banned, shamed, and blamed. And what does he say? It was a rough time for our family to find out what Josh did...way back then. He's the sickest one of all, IMO.

(16,846 posts)She could have stopped that shit a long time ago, but she chose to go along with it. Just because she acts like she's one of the kids doesn't mean she isn't an adult with responsibilities. She's a mother who continued to allow her children to be victimized, all in the name of her fucked-up religion. She's an adult. She's as much to blame as Jim Bob.

Our sources say there's a strong sense axing Josh would not materially hurt the show. We're told TLC has done research and it shows the daughters have become the driving force. The weddings of Jill and Jessa were ratings successes, as was the birth of Jill's baby...(W)e're told TLC believes the show has a strong, loyal evangelical base and so far support has not wavered...
But since then, it has come out that the "counseling" Josh spoke of consisted of moving in with a family friend for four months, plus a "stern talk" from a state trooper who is currently serving his second sentence for child pornography. And to top if off, both Josh and his mother are on record as linking LGBTs with child molesting.
Anyway, I think TLC has been forced to agree with you: this isn't so much about about what Josh did than about what could look like TLC's tacit endorsement of his parents covering it up. I can't help but wonder if Honey BooBoo's mother's threat of a lawsuit is what tipped the scales -- TLC cancelled her show for dating the man who'd molested one of her then-underaged daughters!

(13,877 posts)were 90% scathing. I and many others, I'm sure, emailed TLC and they are smart people there. Also at least one major brand said they would not advertise. That's probably the real reason.
They've got a dwarf couple and another mega family that are musicians in the line up now. Easy come, easy go. Very sad.

I haven't seen anyone else in the public eye support them, I could be wrong, I just got up. But what could he do...they were coded into his website.

(89,252 posts)it would be difficult to find a family that is so bizarre as the duggars are.
the duggars are against kissing before marriage and even oppose holding hands until they are at least engaged. and then there is the whole chaperone thing .
and of course the whole deal with having so many kids.
even the duggar kids are unable to find someone to marry with a family similar to them. usually the women will wear pants and other stupid shit they are opposed to.

"19 Kids and Counting" may survive the Josh Duggar molestation scandal, but Josh might not.
Connected industry sources tell TMZ, TLC is considering a number of options, weighing the pros and cons. One is to cancel the show outright, the other is to just go full steam ahead, but there is real talk about continuing without Josh.

They're a cash cow for TLC and if they think they can appease their advertisers and keep the show on the air, they will.

If TLC couldn't continue to support Honey BooBoo because her mom had taken up with the man who'd molested her sister, they certainly cannot support Jim and Michelle Duggar's obstruction and dereliction of parental duty in the handling of their son's molesting his sisters!
