I still haven't seen the post calling Bernie a racist, but apparently it exists somewhere. If you think that's bad, just wait until you see what lies ahead.
It's going to get worse. Much worse.
Just ask Obama and the Clintons.
Obama had to deal with birtherism, secret Muslim accusations, Rev. Wright, a whitey tape and a whole lot more. Bill and Hillary were accused of murdering Vince Foster and Bill was accused of raping Hillary. Many of these ridiculous assertions were top national news stories for some time.
A post on an anonymous message board allegedly calling Bernie a racist is nothing.
It's going to get worse. Much worse.

As for the rest of your worries, don't worry. If Bernie had skeletons they would have come out already. The rest will all be lies and as we saw with Obama the people see through the lies.
So.... don't you worry, Cali-D, Bernie's got this. Just get ready to vote for him come November 2016.

Apparently, some here are so precious and determined to put their thumbs in their ears that even daring to DISCUSS the man's votes/thoughts on race are the exact same thing as calling him a racist. The Tea Party shares that same confusion.
Personally, I think the conversation has been desperately needed and I've learned a few things from it. Apparently, Bernie has been doing a lot of work with the Congressional Black Caucus which is a good thing. His work with Maxine Waters and other black members of Congress has been stalwart, if not always effective.
I think a lot of his supporters, for all of their braying and screaming, were the ones who needed this conversation the most desperately. Because the number of people I've seen posting the most embarrassingly moronic, irrelevant and idiotic things about his supposed commitment to black rights such as "He participated in the March on Washington 53 years ago!!1one" and "he was born in BROOKLYN. Of COURSE he knows and loves black people!!" have been so stupid, no moderately intelligent person who understands the importance of building a multi-racial coalition in a post-Obama political world would even dream of posting something so worthless and inane.
So for all the gnashed teeth and screaming, this conversation is one that was sorely, DESPERATELY needed. And I give thanks to those here with enough sense, fairness and faith in their candidate to let the conversation be had.

Instead, we find a board full of people who are not only clueless but hostile as hell so trying to explain this will not only do absolutely NADA but it will waste your time and simultaneously make you weep for humanity.

(30,481 posts)One thing Clinton supporters know is that so many things in campaigning at this level are not fair. Even on a progressive message board Clinton has been lied about over and over again. That is directly related to the rock star qualities of Clinton in our party. We know that. Seems some Sanders supporters are just learning this, most are very well aware. Don't expect some of Sanders younger supporters to understand this. It will take some time for them to figure it out as it did for all of us. Sanders supporters such as myself are really excited about the little dust up. And lets be clear, in reality not only was it little, it was almost insignificant. So why the excitement. It doesn't happen to people until they are recognized as being serious instruments of change on a national level. That is why it has been happening to Clinton for decades and is just now happening to Sanders. I can only hope it gets worse for the Sanders campaign. That would be a great sign. If it rises to the absurdity of the anti-Clinton right wing brigade, we will know he is truly on the radar and has a shot.
