Really, given that the text talks about those we kill, maybe the picture should have been of some of those victims, as opposed to what looks like an American military person?

it's just disgusting that it even needs to be brought up. As a culture we don't seem to want to consider the results of our actions.

It seems to me that the "Thank you for your service" remarks have always been extended to all of our soldiers, both the "good" and the "bad" ones.

Personally, since we've had an all volunteer military for a very long time now, I find it very difficult to thank anyone who has participated in our illegal wars.

And I'm not joking.
