RIP, Beau.

Sometimes I forget how amazing he really is.

Something I had forgotten about reading regarding him, is that the reason he took that train from Wilmington to DC everyday was for some Political points, or anything like that, but in order for him, to be home with Beau and Hunter everyday, when he became a single father. Just a lot to love about Joe, and I hope we can find a way to support him now when his back is broken yet again.

Heartbreaking.

His understanding, his compassion absolutely shines. He knows exactly what it is to lose a wife, a child. And he relates that with incredible eloquence to the lose those in his audience have had.

I'd seen this before, and I'm so glad you posted this so I could watch it again.

I doubt there is any other politician in modern life who could have spoken to this audience with such understanding, such empathy, such compassion. He has been through what they've been through.

Me? I've led a charmed life. I'm 66 years old and I've lost no one before his or her time. Oh, it could still happen, something terrible could happen to one of my sons, or a niece or nephew, but to be honest, as awful as that would be, it's nothing like what Joe Biden went through when his wife and daughter were killed. But more to the point, he could speak to the families of soldiers who'd died and connect to them in a profound way.

I was in tears by the end, and I'd seen this before.

Someone had recommended Joe's wise words to me when I found myself in deep mourning a couple of years ago. I cried with him back then, as I watched it.

Listening to his talk again, today, I have to cry for him. I simply cannot imagine that sort of loss, that immense grief.

The tender care he gave to Beau and Hunter after that horrible accident is described by Beau himself, in this amazing speech. I've listened to this several times this evening, thinking of the Biden family and how very much they will miss him. Peace to Beau

Because, I mean, I know dozens of people who have said they were "mad at god." But none of them have ever experienced Biden's sorrows. None of them.
