(32,324 posts)Cause they taste good.
But also I support the dairy and beef industry because unlike the wine industry, which is killing species in Northern Calif. left and right, the dairy industry provides meadows and forests for the deer, cougar, skinks, skunks, snakes, frogs, toads, possums, raccoons, fox, bobcat, and hundreds of species of birds.
You can sit near a vineyard for two days and not see a living creature enter it. And each year, the vineyards get larger and larger, while the aquifers shrink, and the pesticides help the lake-killing algae grow.

My guess is: probably not.

(32,324 posts)I see YOU as lacking in logic, and I see you as continually with the red herrings, the ad hominem attacks, and the rest of any ability to undertake real discussion.
You follow me from one discussion OP to another and it is generally the same - disagreeable and lacking in logic.

(13,184 posts)...their tally is 117.
And about half died in car accidents.
2013 was a quiet year for police deaths; the blip upward last year puts the numbers in more normal ranges.

(12,778 posts)If you change the wording to "bovine attacks," I can tell you about more than one - two by the same cow and two by steers.

(75,480 posts)Also the bulls were tortured and killed with a sword which is a slow agonizing death. I was sick for days.
It's just that this has the Wiley Coyote, road runner factor to it. I picture Elsie the Cow in her ruffled apron, whacking Elmer Fudd with a frying pan for stealing pie from her kitchen.
Also, since I'm a rural person and sometimes take short cuts through pastures, I never go into a pasture with a cow or pig in it. I take my chances with horses.

truedelphi
(32,324 posts)Of course, people use their cars to commit suicide also, so I don't know how it all plays out.
I suspect it might be trickier to rule a car accident a suicide than it is to define a gun incident that way.

(32,324 posts)And it also makes me doubt that only 2 people died of rabies here in the USA last year.
I imagine it is closer to a dozen people a year.
I am continually hearing about young people (usually pre-adolescent) who are bitten by a feral cat or other animal on a farm, display all the symptoms and their illness is not diagnosed until after they die and some tissue biopsy or blood work reveals they had rabies. (Symptoms of rabies include a flu like condition that goes away and returns, double vision, odd and aggressive behavior.)
