She made the comment that, to be considered a pedophile, a person had to be at least 16 years old.
Josh Duggar began molesting his sisters at the age of 14. He fessed up to his parents after the first incident. Time passed while he continued to molest his sisters and a non-family girl. It sounded like it went on for 2-3 years (based upon the timeline the parents were talking about). That would indicate that he was still molesting his sisters at the age of - 16 which could make him classified as a pedophile.
The parents complain about his juvenile record being released. A juvenile record (to me) indicates a child being arrested, charged and convicted of a crime. What was actually released on Josh Duggar was a police report which is something different altogether. The parents waited until the statute of limitation had lapsed before they reported him.
Now given the fact that he continued to molest his sisters after he told his parents the first time, and then continued to molest them, why should anybody believe that he would be safe to have around little girls now?

(102,383 posts)The constant stumbling in that interview to me clearly indicated areas where both Duggars were trying to get in their rehearsed PR points-- that little nugget was intended to emphasize that the son did not meet the "LEGAL" definition of a pedophile
These people are unreal and disgusting.

(10,952 posts)time their daughters were molested the parents did not sit down with the daughters and talk to them about in appropriate touching. They waited until after their son continued to victimize his sisters.
What an interesting question is whether or not Josh actually stopped molesting his sisters (or any other young girls). Did he actually stop the behavior or did he stop confessing to his parents about the behavior?
The Duggars never addressed their hypocrisy about preaching that gays/transgender people will harm children when they harbored a child molester in their midst. No, it is all about people picking on them because they are Christian. I am so sick and tired of people playing the everybody picks on Christians card.

(50,311 posts)Was Josh Duggar ever molested and, if so, was it a family member? The whole incident seems to have been taken as normal behavior by this family.
