Teens who killed Pamela Smart's husband freed 25 years later

WARREN, Maine (AP) — Two teenagers who held a knife to Gregg Smart's neck and shot him in the head in 1990 have become free middle-aged men after serving a quarter-century in prison.

William Flynn was the triggerman and Smart's lover. He was 16 and known as "Billy" when he and three friends participated in what prosecutors said was Pamela Smart's plot to kill her husband in Derry, New Hampshire.

Patrick "Pete" Randall restrained Gregg Smart and held a knife to his neck.

Both were released on parole Thursday from prisons in Maine and New Hampshire. Two other teenagers served prison sentences and have been released.

Of course, she is now a grown woman. Really puts it into perspective how much time 25 years is. I've always been on the fence about the teens, and I'm grateful there's no chance in hell of Pamela getting out.

The teenagers were manipulated by an older woman who used sex to draw in one of them. What they did was terrible, but they were kids. Pamela Smart is pretty darn close to being a sociopath in my opinion.
