Legalized marijuana would be eliminated under a Christie presidency

Gov. Chris Christie vowed Sunday to eliminate legalized marijuana in states like Colorado and Washington if he's elected president.

The governor, speaking on CBS' "Face the Nation," said his administration would use federal rules that outlaw marijuana to clamp down on states that legalized recreational pot use.

"Yes sir," Christie told host John Dickerson when asked whether he'd go after Colorado and Washington.

"If you were president would you return the federal prosecutions in the states of Colorado, Washington states?" Dickerson asked.

"Yes," Christie said.

"So, if somebody's enjoying that now in their state, if you're president, that's getting turned off?" Dickerson continued.

"Correct," Christie responded.

I'm not sure a 10XL is large enough to fit the Pillsbury Doughboy, but it'll be close.

I've been uneasy (to put it mildly) about how far the repukes will go to get "their man" elected.
But then again, Christie isn't exactly liked much by repukes... is he?

8. How, pray tell, does this financial conservative intend to pay for ramped-up federal prosecution?

Recreational weed is about a month away from legality here in Oregon, too (and has been effectively legal in many locales ever since the referendum passed: cops were told by several DAs that cases wouldn't be prosecuted, and the cops just stopped busting people for it). We tend to react to federal insistence on enforcement of fed laws prohibiting things that are legal on Oregon with a big raised middle finger (assisted suicide, anyone?). This would be no different.

It would take a lot of federal boots on the ground to return to pot prohibition here...who's paying for that, Chris?
