(30,058 posts)Or that because she is a female, it would never be said if a male was saying the same. I just wonder how much longer this is going to occur. It is getting old. Maybe Ralph said this because of his gender, he is trying to compensate.

(9,086 posts)I think Hillary is not the Hillary of when she was 30 years old. She made peace with the power structure and she is a deep corporatist and a deep militarist. One can almost forgive the corporatism. She moved to New York with Bill because thats where the power is and Wall Street but her militarism is absolutely shocking, he said during a discussion about his new book, Return to Sender, which focuses on unanswered letters Nader wrote to U.S. presidents about an array of issues.
Nader cited the war in Libya during President Obamas first term to support his position on Clinton.
She almost singlehandedly did the Libyan war. The Defense Department was against it, [Secretary Robert] Gates, and she persuaded the White House that it was an easy topple without knowing that in a tribal society with nothing to replace it you would have a civil war, sectarian killings spilling into Africa, weapons everywhere, Mali, central Africa and shes being accused of Benghazi the big thing is the huge amount of geography that has been destabilized because of the Libyan overthrow, he added.

(33,688 posts)there is a large ring of truth in that. That HRC is dangerously hawkish is not an opinion, it is a fact.

(2,935 posts)I doubt there's any "overcompensation" with Clinton. Her worldview is one of violence and domination, and is thus a perfect match for the position of both Secretary of State and Presidency.

(16,191 posts)Hillary wasn't trying to compensate for anything. She just doesn't give a damn. Like all of the other members of the aristocracy, she just places no value on the lives of brown people who stand in the way of American empire. They're all simply collateral damage in the war to increase the wealth and power of the 1%. Hillary is a hawk. War and murder are part of the game.

(14,093 posts)I'd say Ralph is likely accurate here.
I can easily see some Dick Morris/Lani Davis-style schmuck telling her "You need to show the public that a woman can be tough! Vote for the war! Flex your foreign policy muscle! Look what it did for Thatcher!"
And the Clintons, as was the case with Morris' idiotic advice, would swallow it and comply.
I don't think Ralph is being sexist here, just accurately describing the thinking of DC consultants and their laughable "expertise."

she is popular among the generals and i think it's because they are kind of on the same level in terms of intelligence and education. and their view of the world and how use of military could help in getting some of the things they support.
