4. Can anyone explain the closing reference to Jeet Heer?

I understand the "pen(guin)" joke -- a cartoonist tips his pen instead of tipping his hat, and Sparky the penguin is a regular character in this strip. I don't get Jeet Heer. I'd never heard of him. A search reveals that he's a Canadian academic who writes about pop culture, including comics, but why is he being recognized in this context?

From the Wikipedia article about it: "Doxing (from dox, abbreviation of documents),[1] or doxxing,[2][3] is the Internet-based practice of researching and broadcasting personally identifiable information about an individual."

For example, in the course of Gamergate, doxxing was employed against some of the women game developers and some of their male allies.
