Billy Graham’s Church Pulls Out Of Wells Fargo Bank Over LGBT Commercial

http://m.newnownext.com/billy-grahams-church-pulls-out-of-wells-fargo-bank-over-lgbt-commercial/06/2015/

Franklin Graham, son of pioneering evangelical Billy Graham, announced on Friday that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association would be divesting from Wells Fargo because the bank featured a same-sex couple in its advertising.

“Have you ever asked yourself–how can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by big business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community?” he asked.

The 62-year-old evangelical then singled out Wells Fargo, which recently launched an ad featuring a lesbian couple that learns sign language to speak with their newly adopted daughter.

“It has dawned on me that we don’t have to do business with them,” Graham continued. “At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we are moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank.”

Hmmmm. Does Chick-fil-A have a bank? Or Hobby Lobby?

A lesbian friend just took a job with Wells Fargo. Looks like she'll be happy there!

How similar would they be to Hobby Lobby's that include owning stock in companies that not only manufactured the kind of birth control they objected to but also pills that were for the purpose of inducing abortions, etc.

There are ways of investing that can ensure that you won't be violating any of your beliefs - packages that are environmentally-friendly, anti-abortion, etc. but they often pay less than other kinds, which is why Hobby Lobby decided its "morals" weren't that important when it came to money.

I have a feeling Graham's church might be the same way.

Stamp out religion would be my first guess.

6. Stamping out religion would certainly eliminate a lot of hatred in the world. Look for hatred

and generally one will find religion at the core of the hatred. To me, religion is a code word for hatred based on mythical beings as the rationale.

In this relentlessly capitalistic society, your dollar is the only vote that counts in a lot of precincts. If Franklin Graham wants to pull his family fortune from Wells Fargo, he can do so, no matter how stupid or parochial the reason. I won't criticize him.

What a doofus.

Back in the days when I worked at a bank, non profits got all sorts of fees waived and other "gimme's". They likely cost the bank more in lost fees than their blessings were providing. I wouldn't be surprised if they wasn't a huge "good riddance" murmured beyond closed doors.
