This is the worst thing of all about "waste and fraud" hawks - all their efforts do is hurt the poorest of the poor.

How do you "monitor" supposed waste and fraud? You spend millions of more tax dollars on the Poverty Bureaucracy - and create plenty of more pockets for corruption to occur there! Because the bureaucracy gets more expensive, taxpayers demand cuts to programs, and poor people are hurt more.

Most "welfare" programs give no "direct cash" benefits at all. Instead they are managed in a convoluted way to make sure that poor people won't have the chance to spend any money on something the taxpayer would deem "frivolous".

This is ridiculous.

Either offer a guaranteed jobs program of offer a mincome. Pretending this country is generous enough to offer welfare to those who "need it", but then only offering salaries and pensions to bureaucrats who purport to be "managing" the program, is sick.
