Omaha police officer continues road to recovery nearly 2 decades after incident(former co-worker OS)





Before I retired I worked with OFCR Thompson for 2 & 1/2 years. We both worked in the customer service unit. We interacted several times every day. I don't know how he stays so upbeat. He is one hell of a guy.

OMAHA, Neb. —An Omaha police officer is moving forward after being injured on the job nearly 19 years ago.

Officer Keith Thompson spends his days behind the scenes at Omaha Police Central headquarters.

He answers calls and parses through paperwork.

His life changed Aug. 28, 1996, when he was pursuing a suspect through a neighborhood near 24th and Wirt streets.
