General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow many former "Discussionists" now post on DU??
Perhaps they still post at "Discussionist"?
How many DUers have ever visited the Discussionist? Why did you return to DU??
But as Bob Dylan said, "you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows"...
Has DU become more "liberal" lately?

(21,155 posts)A cesspool of hatred, racism and dumb a$$es. A few minutes I lost in my life. Much like reading yahoo comments.

(17,997 posts)I think I might have even registered. But that was enough. Ya know, like you walk into a bar and realize it's all Brewers fans, so you walk right back out.

(18,101 posts)I think more DUers should post there. Turning the site over to the RWNJs and bigots doesn't make sense to me.

(30,439 posts)Anyone know who their preferred candidate is?
I'm sure it's not Hillary.

(10,164 posts)Few of the RW crowd at DI talk about their own candidates. They mostly just bash Hillary (and to a lesser degree, Bernie...although one staunch RW'er there posted a rather nice complimentary post, praising Bernie's honesty and no-bullshit presentation).
I'd say most of my fellow leftists over there are Bernie supporters.

And as far as I can perceive, DU is the same as it was when I got here in '01. But, that's me.

(10,164 posts)...mostly due to excitement over Bernie's candidacy. I still post much more at DI. Not to put too fine a point on it, it's far, far less of a cliqueish echo chamber. I have to tolerate some really dimwitted RW nonsense...but that's not really all that hard to tune out.

(16,846 posts)the second day after it opened. It was pretty cool at first. In some ways I liked it more than DU. As the RW traffic increased, my involvement decreased. Finally, I went there at the beginning of Israel's invasion of Gaza and saw people cheering the deaths of Palestinian children. I'm not exaggerating, they were literally happy about those kids dying. I haven't been back and I don't plan on going back.

My thoughts about the place are well known, or at least should be well established.

(9,610 posts)I do have an account there. I signed up after it first opened when I had a posting timeout from here. Less traffic and you have right wing nutjobs posting there. If I had more energy, I might go there and jump into the fight, but it is tough enough railing against right wing Democratic members. I'll keep it open and depending how primary season goes, may start using that more than DU.
