Texas officer in video let 'emotions get the better of him': lawyer

AUSTIN, TEXAS | BY JON HERSKOVITZ

The Dallas-area policeman seen in a viral video throwing a bikini-clad black teenager to the ground was emotionally fraught at the time after responding to two suicide calls, and was not targeting minorities, his attorney said on Wednesday.

McKinney Police Corporal Eric Casebolt, who is white, resigned on Tuesday after being seen in a video responding to a disturbance at a pool party on Friday where he appeared to target black youths, an incident that has added to concerns about racial bias in U.S. policing.

"He never intended to mistreat anyone," lawyer Jane Bishkin told a news conference, adding that Casebolt hoped his resignation can bring healing.

His crowd-funded pity-party will be the genesis of a wonderfully horrible made-for-tv movie with his autobiography coming out soon thereafter.

I doubt he'll ever need to work again.

Upset about earlier calls so he assaults a child? Even more reason this git shouldn't have been on the job.

He didn't do anything wrong by escalating the situation. You don't fight or struggle with cops. Sorry, that's just reality.

That's the odd reality here.

He also told her to sit her ass down when she was already sitting. Then, after the other cops stopped him from waving a gun and chasing after other children, he dragged her by her hair and threw her face down in the dirt.

He didn't do anything wrong? He could have killed children. WTF are you talking about?

Tell that to all the families of dead people that did nothing wrong and gave no protest when 'detained'. Sorry, you have no idea what reality is if you watched that video and said the cop was justified or you are a cop yourself and cannot be unbiased.

Either way, IF those that died had the foreknowledge they were about to DIE they would have fought and struggled like there life depended on it. Which it did, but they followed orders and died at the hands of out of control cops.

No doubt a KKK member cries when he see the cross burning bright at night. You know...he lets 'emotions get the better of him'.

If he can not handle himself in a pool party with teenagers, its a miracle he has not yet killed an innocent person on the street for a traffic stop.

7. It appears this officer is claiming distress post 2 suicide calls?

If so, that won't fly....Think about what ER nurses and doctors deal with daily! They get GSW's dead or alive, suicide attempts, abuse cases ...sometimes all in just one shift! So, this claim does not fly.

You gotta deal with suicidial people, maniacs, thugs, crackheads, rowdy kids, etc 24/7 as an LEO. If you can't handle it, get the hell out and let someone who can take your place.
