as the TAA did not pass. Boehner has to schedule a revote on TAA and he and dem leadership have to get enough votes to pass it, or the Senate has to drop TAA. The former is more likely than the latter but both are tough.

(5,066 posts)TPA passing proves it.granted majority of dems in house voted against it but enough dems will vote for it so it can pass.

(47,953 posts)Will have to wait to see the vote list. Pelosi said this 'killed' the trade pact. I am seeing conflicting reports on this.

(114,904 posts)as of yesterday, that was 20. Looks like I might be pleasantly surprised though as there's an op saying only 12 voted for it.

(17,399 posts)If the revote of TAA fails, it means that TPA is likely to pass at some point, but TAA could be permanently dead.

(20,709 posts)If so, that's a pretty huge deal, politically. I've always felt that TPP was not a huge deal policy-wise or economy-wise, so I'm neither bothered nor excited about this, but politically it is a big loss for Obama.
