I'm getting chills just thinking about it.
Hillary Clinton, a democrat with solid progressive principles will launch her campaign with a big event on Roosevelt Island, in NY.
How I wish I could be there, but I will have to settle watching it on the TV.
We really could get a woman in the White House this time around!
People can scoff and tell me I'm voting for a vagina... (which I've been told many times, btw), but the fact of the matter is this is a huge deal. It is huge for women. Lived experiences, which some might be lucky enough to never know or experience, make this mean even more to people who share them. Some people will never get it, and that's ok.
If the goddesses shine down upon us we may finally break this barrier!
Go Hillary!

(28,866 posts)I am a Sanders fan, but I hope Clinton acquits
herself well also.
I like Clinton, though I wish she'd move left on
some positions and, of course, take a stand
against the TPP.

(36,926 posts)I have honestly stopped responding to people who are so shrill and seemed filled with anger, especially when I simply post something positive about Hillary. But you, Mineral Man and a few others are refreshingly civil.

(17,663 posts)This is the respect that should be shown to every candidate, no matter who your favorite is! ( I 've donated to both H and B!)
MOONRIVER: I think you are right about disengaging from the haters...no point in trying to discuss anything if the mold is set...it's bad enough to deal with the right wing haters...

(7,017 posts)we have so far a great group of candidates to consider. How bout we support who we want and let the voters decide instead of hurling insults . The republican clown car should give us plenty to insult.

(16,954 posts)maybe they just didn't rename the scheduled shows on cable and they really are going to show it during that slot. So far MSNBC had Steve Kornacki there, but they switched to the Dallas situation.

(16,954 posts)show. She said they would be covering the event, but I still don't see it listed/renamed on their official line-up of shows.

(146,317 posts)She'll be speaking often in the next months. This is a campaign, not a paid speech. When she comes to Minnesota, I'll try go go hear her speak. I couldn't make it to Senator Sanders' visit, sadly. I try to hear all candidates when they're in town.
Snark is inappropriate in this thread. I'm sure you can find some other thread where it will be appreciated.

MineralMan
(146,317 posts)this one should be free from snarky replies. It helps nobody, but has the potential to do harm to the very person the snarker supports. Hillary Clinton has broad support for her candidacy, as demonstrated by the NYC crowd that made the trek to this event.
Plenty of threads where such negative comments are appreciated, I'd think. This isn't one of them.

(146,317 posts)Hillary Clinton has strong support from many Democrats. That so many have showed up for this launch celebration is evidence of that, I think. I hope the even goes well. If I were in NYC, I'd be there, for sure.

And haters- Hillary is a Democrat with genuine liberal progressive values - no, Carly is not an option!
