(114,904 posts)Try being honest- if that's remotely in the realm of possibility. One more fucking time:
I said I would stay out of the celebratory threads started by Hillary fans. I did. I did not say I wouldn't critique or analyze her speech.
For today, I've refrained from starting a thread on her speech. Tomorrow, after reviewing it, I DNC well will. Don't like that? Tough.

This measure would urge our state Congressional delegation to propose a federal Constitutional amendment that clarifies:
Constitutional rights belong only to individuals, not corporations;
Spending money is not free speech under the First Amendment;
Governments are empowered to regulate political contributions and expenditures to prevent undue influence; and
Political contributions and expenditures must be promptly disclosed to the public

(2,615 posts)there's a lot of talk about the color of the pantsuit, how nice her hair looks, how young she looks and the all-important shape of the stage. Oh the spectacle !!1!
I also get the impression it's more about having a female president than

I simply cannot believe this shit from any candidate anymore
not just HRC, though at one time, I would have plucked my eyebrows clean and painted my face "Clinton" to have it. I trusted, I reached for it

Excuse me, it's time to donate again to Bernie Sanders. That's a candidate I can believe in.

(114,904 posts)Bernie's was dense with specific policy proposals and little in the way of an appeal to the emotions. No emphasis on "American Exceptionalism", and few stories either about himself or others, used convey a message. It was far more grounded in intellect. He also went after the greed of corporations and the 1%. HRC'S speech was an appeal to sentiment, with lots of stories and a lack of specifics. It was also quite conciliatory toward wall street and the "successful"

(65,174 posts)Hopefully that is revealed as we get closer to the election. Badly want to hear her TPP position. Personally think President Obama is a better speaker, but her speeches are well thought out enough to compensate. And she knows how to deliver the big lines.
