High School valedictory by awesome transgender graduate

Last edited Sat Jun 13, 2015, 02:06 PM - Edit history (1)

I went to the Renton (WA) High School Class of 2015 graduation yesterday to celebrate my honorary granddaughter's graduation. A generation or two ago, the Renton area was all white. Now it's home to a rainbow of ethnicities thanks to an influx of immigrants. It was such a happy, excited, vocal crowd. What made it even more special was that the valedictorian was a beautiful transgender young woman. She was a cheerleader, a gifted musician, and a popular student. Talk about diversity and acceptance! I still feel uplifted by being part of the celebration. It all made me so happy.
