How many votes to confirm a Supreme Court appointment?

I understand it only will take a majority vote to confirm but....it will take a super majority of 60 to even bring it to a vote if there is strong opposition so...

the real question is can either Bernie or Hillary fill any future seat with a progress justice???

I doubt it and it is time to be honest with the electorate and ourselves the next POTUS will be a lame duck from day 1.

We keep saying that the Republicans always get the Democratic politicians to go along with them. Perhaps it is time for our Democratic President to convince Republican politicians to go along and no it isn't easy but it should be able to be done somehow.

I fear that what you've said could be the case, not to mention a very poor economy. But when we all speak up, things can change. I'm not sure if that would be true for appointments, but who knows.
