from the Rutland Herald:
Sanders throws more barbs at Clinton
I voted against the war in Iraq, and I think history will absolutely record that as being the right vote; Secretary Clinton voted for it, Sanders said (in Iowa Saturday, the day of Hillary's campaign kickoff).
He hailed the U.S. Houses rejection Friday of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal and faulted Clinton for not taking a clear position, saying You can be for it, you can be against it, but I dont understand how you can have no opinion on this issue, and sadly, that is the secretarys position...
I happen to believe and agree with the scientific community that climate change is the great planetary environmental crisis that we face. I helped lead the effort against the Keystone pipeline, he said. Secretary Clinton did not have an opinion on that...
Not because I dont believe that terrorism is a serious threat to this country, it is, but I believe that we can combat terrorist attacks against this country in ways that do not undermine the Constitution or the privacy rights of the American people, he said. Secretary Clinton voted on the other side of that issue, he said.
I believe in running intelligent, issue-oriented campaigns which respect the voters. You cannot imagine, every day Im being asked to attack Hillary Clinton. Thats right. Literally, people get angry because I dont attack her. And Im not going to, Sanders said.

(3,425 posts)He also states his positions on those same subjects.. That is what politicians are supposed to do. He made no personal attacks. Hardly a description of a boxing match.

(19,497 posts)The fact is Hillary is trying to win by doing nothing controversial or risky. She is taking the race for granted. That's not leadership, that's entitlement.
Sanders and the other candidates have to compete. That inherently makes them stronger.

(36,392 posts)Their entire narrative will have been for nothing, and, even worse for them, they will have been shown to be failures at getting what they want.
The next time any Big Media prints anything positive about Sanders' platform or campaign or ideas or ideology will be the first.
the good news is that they want Hillary to be president very, very badly. So while Bernie and O'Malley won't be president, neither will anyone from the clown car. The bad news is that Clinton and the Republican congress will continue dismantling everything that made the party and the country great for more than 6 decades.

(12,504 posts)...it's just that he had originally said he would be touting his own positions and leaving other candidates out of it. So let's be clear he is a politician first and all that campaigning nobility has sort of flown out of the window. Good to know he's getting real

(85,996 posts)...I don't have any problem with his criticisms at all.
I do think he's a bit misleading on stating he's not going to 'attack' his rivals . That's going to be the only way he's going to define his own positions apart from theirs. Campaigns aren't playing tiddlywinks; they're waging political warfare with some of the largest egos in the nation competing against each other for a daunting position of political power. Saying he's not 'attacking' doesn't make it so (I suppose if he said 'personal' attacks, he might be on firmer ground, but he's even strayed into that territory, saying the Clintons are 'hustling' money and they couldn't possibly care about hungry children).

(31,493 posts)All one should do is remember how Hillary handled her last campaign against Obama. Think she won't take the same route this time?

(10,495 posts)There is a difference b/w that and pointing out you voted against something she voted for. It disingenuous to say they are the same.
I still want to know how many are ok with Wall Street bank crimes on a massive scale and no prosecutions. Hillary will be like Obama on that front, maybe worse. Is it just because she is a woman, the favorite, what?
