Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner to the poor: If the cold doesn't getcha, maybe the heat will

Here is a lamentable historical fact to consider when reflecting upon a recent cruel proposal of Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner to deny heat and air conditioning assistance to the poor: In 1995, a severe heat wave in Chicago caused approximately 750 deaths among residents who could not afford air conditioning.

Illinois is #5 on the list of the 10 most regressive states for taxation http://www.itep.org/whopays/full_report.php

and they are supposed to be a blue state.

Surely that will resort in a nice compromise. Like we could start a job training program. That way we can close the skills gap between employers and these dead people.
