Watch A Quadriplegic Dog Walk Again… And Someone Get Me A Tissue!

http://blog.theanimalrescuesite.com/sammirecovery/

Sammi went in to the vet to have excess bone that was pressing on his spinal column removed, but the procedure wasn’t possible, and he ended up a quadriplegic. His outlook was bleak. However, Sammi’s family still did what they could. They took him on a trip to the California Animal Rehabilitation Center in hopes that, with intensive therapy, he might still find a way to regain some movement.

What ended up happening exceeded everyones expectations, and turned into one of the most heart-wrenching stories you’ll ever see. This is what real love and dedication look like!

After his surgeon was unable to remove excess bone during surgery near his spinal column, Sammi the Springer Spaniel's health declined. The puppy needed intense rehabilitation as he became quadriplegic post-surgery and his family prayed for a miracle.

They brought him to the California Animal Rehabilitation centre in Santa Monica, California, where doctors feared that the outcome was bleak. What happened next was a completely unbelievable to everyone around Sammi! After three intense months of of daily rehabilitation, Sammi managed to defy all odds and took his first steps. This was the first time his owner had seen him walking again. Make sure you have tissues nearby!

I'm wondering if he will have to do maintenance excerices...
having had back surgery and now stenosis due to aging, exercises are mandatory now to keep things "in balance" so the nerves don't get compressed. Constant battle, legs burn sometimes, other times, nothing.

I hope he has a long, pain free life!!!
