Oklahoma teen gets life without parole for fatal shooting of Australian college student

DUNCAN – In an unexpected revelation, the convicted murderer who fatally shot the Australian jogger has admitted he was part of a gang and sold drugs for a living.

A judge Tuesday sentenced Chancey Allen Luna, 18, to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Stephens County District Judge Ken Graham said he found no reason to depart from the verdict of the jury.

Jurors in April found Luna guilty of first-degree murder, rejecting his attorney's claim that he only had been trying to scare the jogger. The jury chose a life term with no parole as punishment over a life term with parole as a possibility when he was in his 50s.
