For more information on NF you can click on some of the links at the bottom of the page. I am not the only DUer with this genetic disease/disorder.
I have had 4 friends die from the disorder because their tumors turned cancerous.
The next time someone calls for slashing the funds for the DoD, remember not all monies are used for weapons of war. It might surprise some people that Sen. McCain was for slashing research monies for medical purposes.

Joseph Merrick did not have NF but the two conditions present themselves in similar fashions.
From the article. "At last, in 1986, Canadian geneticists Tibbles and Cohen demonstrated that Merrick was actually afflicted with Proteus Syndrome ."
