This is a democracy with 300 million people in it. What's wrong with having even 50, 60 or more candidates for a major party nomination? That to me would be the sign of a healthy system.

as for the republicans, i'll just say that more candidates doesn't necessarily mean more choices. maybe, maybe, eventually they'll find some way to subtly differentiate themselves on policy, but really, any of them would press a remarkably similar agenda, advocate remarkably similar views, and appoint remarkably similar people.
