Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI know which side I'm on and it's NOT on the side of the corporate stooges
that run the Democratic Party at the national level.
And I don't give a rat's ass about anyone here that tries to tell me that I'm giving the election to the repukes with my attitude.
When the effects are the same how are they really different?
That's like asking do you want to come down with smallpox or syphilis.

(5,364 posts)If I'm ( or any ) are to be impoverished, a few social issue crumbs aren't going to assuage that.
Too many look at the divide between the parties in a macro sense, as if it were a math equation where the highest number of "plusses" wins. When it comes to one's own livelihood: Dead is dead.

(51,076 posts)Hillary will be no different. Bernie on the other hand will be. One way to judge a persons character is to look at their past. Bernie passes this test, Hillary not so much.

I've always said I'm a Democrat by default since there is no viable Socialist option.
I come from a long line of hard core Socialists

(57,136 posts)There ought to be a runoff in all elections of three candidate ballots if the leader doesn't break 51%. Another thing I'd like to see is a "none of the above" option. If it wins or comes in second where the winner has less than 51%, there needs to be a re-slating of candidates.

(9,214 posts)is Bernie a Democrat or a Republican?
But yes what you suggest would help. So would having the Representatives and Senators stay home and vote electronically. Make them walk among the people they represent instead of other Senators and Representatives. Let them have lunch and dinner with their constituents instead of lobbyists.
There is no longer a need for our legislators to be in Washington full time.

By the way, many rarely go "home", to mention one, when do you think the last time McCain went home?

(31,849 posts)as an African-American in America, there has never been a Pro-Black option (let alone, a VIABLE option) ... the closest I've seen, in my voting lifetime, was The Rev. Al in 2004.
But it is what it is.
I just, really, dislike the dramatic "barf bag" and "nose holding" imagery for doing what is a everyday activity, choosing the best, of available options.
And those option don't grow spontaneously ... they are the product of hard and slow work.

(18,638 posts)I'd take both over the ebola infection that is a republican leadership.
I think you make a silly and all too simple straw man argument to support your candidate, but I'll play along. Claiming that there's no difference between the parties is absurd.
