March held for victims in Charleston shooting ( “Our children are worth the march.” )
June 18, 2015
Four-year-old Camora Hunter walked on the shoulder of the U.S. 45 Bypass with her mother and nearly a dozen others on Thursday afternoon.
Hunter carried a sign reading, Our children are worth the march. Her mother Kiara Hunter, 22, walks with her holding a black lives matter sign.
Officials accused 21-year-old Dylann Storm Roof of shooting and killing nine people inside an African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, on Wednesday. Roof was arrested on Thursday as police and other officials suspect him of being the only shooter in the murders.
I grew up in a church and I never thought this would happen, Kiara Hunter said. For somebody to come into a church where you worship, where youre supposed to feel safe, and take lives.
