Man And His Beloved Blind Cat Go On Magical Adventures Together

Stevie, a blind cat, and her human, Patrick Corr, are adorably devoted to each other. In fact, Corr rescued Stevie after she had been waiting for months in a shelter in Cork, Ireland.

Corr, who has said that his love for Stevie "changed his life forever," recorded an inspiring new video showing the two of them hiking up a mountain together — and even though Stevie can't see, she has no fear with her human at her side.

Not only has Stevie turned Corr into a "cat person," adopting her has also convinced him of the importance of supporting shelters that give dogs and cats like Stevie the chance to live full, happy lives with loving families.

Not a day goes buy that I miss my Annie, a calico picked up as a kitten in the streets of Pittsburgh. She was mean and had a will of iron, but was my cat.

one for 10 years. Nobody could step into my flat without being forearmed with a broom or mop to keep her at bay.

She attacked anything that moved--including me. Still have scars on my arms and hands.
She was called 'Cake'--short for Fruitcake, Nutty as a...

Beautiful thing she was, though.

She is totally oblivious to everything around her & just blithely walks into the path of oncoming objects of all sizes, or just flops down in the path down regardless of what is headed her way.

And - yes she attacks me. She's playing with me through the stairs as I head out to work - and still has her claws.

I married one. They tend to be much nicer, smarter, funnier, liberal, and more confident. The cat-hating guys usually have anger/control issues.

Recently I saw an interesting study that showed that people in deep red states are much more likely to have dogs and much less likely to have cats. The need for control and obedience definitely goes along with Republican men.

Of course this is a broad brush. I'm not saying that all dog guys are controlling creeps. But a good portion of rabid cat-hating guys are controlling creeps.

As an adult I much prefer cats. I do like dogs, but the independence of a cat suits my own personality - which is much more cat-like - far better. Cats let you know when they want to snuggle, play and socialize where dogs can be clingy. Cats know themselves and where it is at. And there is nothing like a happy purr.

Blind kittehs do pretty well. They use their whiskers the way blind humans do their travel canes.

Something like 99.9 of calicos/torties are female. There was recently a boy calico kitten up for adoption in the Bay Area, and it made national news.

I've lived with many, many kitties over the years and each one is so different and special. Although there are some stereotypes that do tend to hold true, like orange males (the large majority of orange cats are male) are big lovebugs. In general the calico/torties tend to be spunky and sassy. We had one when I was a kid and she was a sweet but tough little girl. She was tiny, but she'd aggressively chase off any "stranger" animal that came into our yard. There's a reason "Tortietude" is a thing.
