Jeb Bush Reminds Conservatives That He "Stood" With Terri Schiavo

Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush invoked the controversial case of Terri Schiavo at a conservative conference in Washington, DC Friday morning, reminding the audience of his role in the case when he was governor of Florida.

"I stood on the side of Terri Schiavo," Bush said at the Faith and Freedom conference. Bush rarely brings up the Schiavo case on the campaign trail but his brief mention of it was made to a religious, conservative audience receptive to his role in the case.

and that the rightwing claims she was alert, aware and not brain dead were bunk.

But, yeah, Jeb. Keep crowing about how you had the government intrude into a matter that polls showed Americans overwhelmingly thought was a personal matter.

I want to see it brought up every goddam time this grinning ghoul makes a public appearance. I want him buttonholed and asked at every interview what he was thinking, interfering in the process that had been set up. Of course, he didn't think anything a few years prior to that to change the election rules in Florida so that he could achieve his desired outcome; what would he care to come tramping in on a family's private grief and splash it all over the country so he could score political points with the knuckleheads at the Faith and Freedom conference?

I remember asking one of my customers (at the time), who was a brain surgeon about the whole deal.
He said something like: Terri's brain is basically mush. The firing mechanism is long gone. In some cases, not as severe, there might be a 1 in a million chance. In this case, it's absolutely Zero...impossible. There is Nothing there...sadly.

He had some other choice words on the whole media stuff and the parents but...I'll leave it at that.

You abused her family, you flouted well-established law, you ignored medical and scientific reality, you put your fat, fucking nose precisely where it most assuredly did not belong.

So yeah, keep on talking. Talk about it all summer long. Knock yourself out.

Jeb has the answer to that one. Jesus would make you suffer by prolonging your death as long as possible. As long as you can still twitch a few muscles, your friends and family have to visit you and pray for Jesus to deliver a miracle. Jesus will do no such thing, of course, since He is interested in slow, painful death, along with a big dose of guilt and sadness for your family. But He's not much on miracles these days. Evidently, He performed a few to build His street cred back in the day, but He's kind of resting on His laurels now.
