World shocked at enduring racism and gun violence in the US
Not sure how the US will handle this latest gun rampage any differently than in the past, but those of you who live in the US are in trouble.
I'm in London now, probably one of the most diverse cities on the planet. Taking a random bus ride (#36) from one end of the city to the other I saw people of all races, creeds, colors and dress walking the streets, safely and without fear. There's nary a policeman/woman in sight, and everyone is out at all hours eating, drinking and making merry.
England has its social/political issues, but not on any level close to what the US, in its ignorance and inertia, continues to grapple with time after time after time after time.
For those in the US making a living off tourist dollars, shooting rampages make for very bad press. That's one very good reason why London is the world's #1 tourist destination. If common sense won't prevail in the US, maybe the corporate bottom line will.
