I was in tears (Re Charleston Church Shooting)

I just watched the bond hearing for the young man who shot the nine people in a South Carolina Church on Thursday. To hear the victims family almost one by one stand up in court and proclaim: "I FORGIVE YOU!" both made my spirit soar, but also crushed my heart. Add to that the singing of the assembled outside the AME church was so profound!

How different they are compared to those of the NRA and the Republican presidential candidate field who either blame the victim or deny there is a problem.

I hope that finally this is a wake up call to our nation to examine where we are. What does the culture of the gun do to us as a society. Where can we heal the racial divisions and finally can we truly address mental illness?

God help us!
