Racism Never Went Away. It morphed, maybe, but it didn't go away.

So many people want to say "things are better than they were". I have heard from so many black people that they are not. I think it is a pendulum. Things improved, and then they reverted. No, we don't have Jim Crow anymore. We have more black people hired in white companies, more black people educated in white schools. But we have cross-burnings and murder. And a LOT of white people who do not like us, and make up reasons to be justified, based on the actions of a few.

I remember when Trayvon Martin was killed, and I saw protests in defense of Zimmerman, and "I am racist and proud" signs. It cut deep. And we don't have to look hard to see the slurs and ugliness that have surrounded our president. Who has borne it all with amazing grace. (We have a history of doing that.)

As Americans, we need to stop kidding ourselves about racism. It's still a BIG problem. And we need to find a way to do something about it.
