Georgia dropped it, after much wailing and gnashing of teeth, in 2001, but Mississippi has yet to see the light.

Mississippi has it embedded in it's state flag.

I know that state grounds in Atlanta do not fly the confederate flag, but other parts of Georgia no clue.

and it is shameful as hell, but I hope you don't wish every single person that resides in this state ill.

Many of us don't necessarily live here out of choice, and we do our damnedest to change the political environment here.

I don't know which besides SC, but I heard that after the Texas ruling last week.

This piece indicates SC was the only one flying it, but several incorporated it into their state flags, including GA. Most have some removed it.

Georgia allows the Confederate flag on license plates, though I haven't seen it at all where I lieve in Atlanta. Rural areas of Georgia I am sure it is quite popular.

They would claim "officially" that the 13 stars represented the original thirteen colonies, but there was definitely some subliminal meaning for those that wished to hold onto that last little bit of symbolism.

They were slave states, but they remained in the Union. Missouri was leaning toward joining the Confederacy, but it was never an issue after the Confederates lost the Battle of Pea Ridge in March 1862.

The final flag from the Confederate States of America included 13 stars. Was their flag from 1861 to 1863.

Is the Northern Virginia battle flag still in the GA flag? No.

Is the 1st National Flag of the Confederacy in the GA flag? Oh my, yes.
